YOBS have been condemned by police after they slaughtered livestock on a Teesside allotment.
They beat six chickens and a rabbit to death with a stick after they broke into 52-year-old John Power's plot at Eston.
The bodies were strewn across his allotment.
PC Stewart Shepherd, of Cleveland Police, said: "I have no idea why anyone would want to do this to animals. This is a sickening attack. I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward and help us catch these vicious thugs."
It is believed the same thugs broke into a shed in an allotment in Jubilee Road belonging to Kenneth Harper, 55, of Middlesbrough. A padlock on the shed door was broken and chickens' eggs were smashed over the allotment.
It is thought the attacks took place on Tuesday night.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Shepherd on (01642) 304326.
