A THREE-DAY blitz on drug dealers in Stockton has resulted in the arrest of 15 people and the recovery of Class A drugs and £11,000.
Police targeted low-level street dealers, which resulted in the arrest of three women and 12 men. Four people remained in custody yesterday helping police with inquiries.
The others were bailed.
Detective Inspector Darren Best, who co-ordinated the raids, said it also resulted in four arrests for burglary and other drug offences.
He said: "This was an operation funded by Stockton Drugs Action Team, which saw multi-agency involvement.
"All our targets were taken out and we had the benefit of extra arrests as a spin-off of the operation.
"We know our work has now created a major hole in the drugs market within Stockton, but this gives addicts a real chance to kick their habit.
"They will not be able to get drugs from their usual supplier, but they can make contact with the drugs support line on (0808) 1880 247, where help is available to get them off their habit."
