YOUNGSTERS in Hartlepool have been given the chance to learn about energy and power.
The pupils at Barnard Grove Primary School were visited by staff from npower as part of the school's Education Action Zone (EAZ) activities.
Pupils at the school took part in the npower Power Day, in partnership with Hartlepool EAZ, where npower representatives visited the school to work with children on various power-related activities and challenges.
EAZ aims to support schools in raising attainment in literacy, attendance figures, raise pupil's self-esteem by providing stimulating extra-curricular activities, and to improve standards of learning and teaching.
Gary Doig, npower's education development officer, said: "Npower has hundreds of employees and thousands of customers in this area, so it's important to us to invest our time and energy in what's important to them. Fun is an important element in learning, and the npower Power Day is packed full of great activities for schoolchildren to enjoy while learning about some very important topics at the same time.
"The children at Barnard Grove Primary School were very creative with their energy during the Power Day and I hope that it was a fun and valuable educational experience for all involved."
