ONE of the region's beauty spots will feature in a TV programme to be screened later this month.
Aysgarth Falls, in Wensleydale, was nominated by a blind Stockton woman to appear in BBC's Seven Wonders of the North.
Mary Osel was a regular visitor to the falls until she lost her sight two years ago.
She told producers she wanted to return to the falls to see if the sound of the water would produce the same sensations as seeing it.
Programme presenter Chris Jackson said: "It was a very emotional and moving moment for her when she heard them again.
"The beauty of the Dales and the uplifting effect of places like Aysgarth Falls can't help but inspire anyone who visits them."
As well as interviewing Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority staff, the crews talked to other experts and local people about what makes the site special.
The programme will be shown on BBC1 next Sunday, at 10.55pm.
