A 13-year-old girl's mother has been given a second parenting order.
The teenager appeared at Darlington Youth Court with her mother and admitted breaching a referral order imposed last month for burglary.
The youngster, who cannot be named for legal reasons, failed to attend her first appointment with the Youth Offending Team panel on November 11.
Rory Todd, in mitigation, said his client had suffered a number of personal and family problems.
Despite the teenager's mother having completed a parenting order, magistrates imposed a further six-month order and allowed the referral order to continue.
