JENNA Featherstone was the toast of villages in Upper Weardale at the weekend after she raised £610 with a jumble sale for the BBC's Children in Need appeal.
Jenna, 14, of Bridge End, Daddry Shield, raised the money by asking villagers from Westgate to Cowshill to donate items to the sale, and raffling a Christmas hamper.
With help from friend Katie Abbot, 14, she staged the sale at Barrington Hall, St John's Chapel.
Last year she raised £514 with a similar event.
"I just wanted to do all I could to help children who are not so lucky in life," she said.
"I want to thank all those people in the dale who helped me out."
