Spennymoor stretched their unbeaten run to ten matches with a 2-2 draw at Radcliffe Borough on Saturday, writes Ray Simpson.
But Moors coach Graeme Clark was left with mixed emotions from the game.
"It was a real Jekyll and Hyde performance.
"We were poor in the first half, and outstanding after half time. We allowed them too much time and room in the first half, but the players did themselves justice in the end."
Radcliffe took the lead direct from a free-kick by Dean Crowther, and then Steve Foster scored the second from a long ball upfield.
But Moors pulled one back when Michael Oliver crossed for John Toft to lift the ball over the advancing keeper.
Andrew Brown hit the woodwork twice for Moors, and they got a deserved equaliser with five minutes left when Danny Brunskill was brought down, and he scored from the spot.
Moors' next game is at home to Ossett Town in the League Cup tomorrow night.
Whitby dropped to third place after they were held to a 2-2 draw at Hyde.
They led 2-0 after 15 minutes with goals from Neil Bishop and Liam Gildea, but Hyde hit back in the second half.
Gateshead are still bottom after they lost 3-1 at home to Marine, even though they were 1-1 at one stage. George Weatherley scored for the Tynesiders.
Blyth drew 1-1 with Frickley, Andy Appleby scoring for them.
Bishop Auckland's home game with Witton Albion was postponed because of a frozen pitch.
Bishops' next game is at North Ferriby tomorrow night in the league cup.
