MORE uniformed civilian staff are being recruited by a North-East police force.
Northumbria Police is aiming to take on dozens more police community support officers after winning Home Office funding.
It already has 51 support officers and another 43 are due on the streets in the first two months of next year.
The officers are supposed to back up beat bobbies, by tackling localised problems of petty crime and disorder.
Full details about the job, and an application form, are available from the Northumbria Police website, www. northumbria.police.uk
