ANIMAL welfare workers are looking for homes for two dogs that have led unhappy lives.
Four-year-old collie Lady and Neapolitan mastiff Louise also need operations to improve their failing eyesight.
Both dogs have been cared for by the Saltburn Animal Rescue Association, but volunteers are desperate to find permanent homes for them.
Lady was left to fend for herself in the rear garden of her owner's home without shelter, water, and, sometimes, food.
She has cataracts and a specialist said her sight could improve by at least half with an operation that will cost £800.
Louise's owner was in and out of hospital and could not look after her. After being kennelled for a while, she has been released and needs a permanent home.
She only has half-vision, which should cost about £100 to correct.
Anyone who can offer either of the dogs a home, or who can contribute to the cost of the assocation, is asked to call (01642) 322239.
