FORMER Sunderland footballers Gary Bennett and Keiron Brady will today take the Show Racism the Red Card message into schools in the region.
The former Black Cats stars are joining Sarah Soye, of the anti-racism campaign, to carry out football training and workshops with pupils.
The first session will be at Easington Primary School, in east Durham, followed by a session at neighbouring Easington Community Comprehensive School next month.
"This is the start of an exciting programme," said Ms Soye. "We aim to build on the success of our work in Sunderland and reach thousands of young people with our anti-racist message."
The project is supported by the School Sport Co-ordinator Partnership and Easington District Council
