AN artist has returned to her former employers to help them get their Christmas celebrations in order.
Rebecca Rawlinson, 18, of Staindrop, has transformed an 18th Century riding school at Raby Castle, into a woodland walk and Santa's grotto for young children.
The former Bishop Auckland college student has used a Night Before Christmas theme along the walk, which is divided into six sections that tell the story of the famous poem.
Rebecca, who used to do seasonal work at the castle, is now employed by Bishop Auckland College as an arts and crafts teacher in the community.
She said: "I've had to come at it from a child's point of view and I'm really looking forward to when we open and see how the kids enjoy it."
Catherine Turnbull, of Raby Castle, said: "We wanted to create a complete package for the family when they come here at Christmas."
It opens on Saturday and runs until December 23. The castle will not be open to the public at this time.
