A ROADSHOW is visiting a market town to give residents the chance to find out about the fight against crime.
Hambleton Community Safety Partnership will hold the event in Northallerton Town Hall on Friday, between 10am tand 4pm.
Police, fire and district council officers will answer questions and discuss problems.
The partnership has run initiatives to combat everything from domestic violence and bullying to speeding and drink driving.
Partnership officer Sergeant Matt France said: "This roadshow aims to show people what we have been up to but also gives them a chance to have their say.
"We have had a very busy 2004 and the descending crime figures are proof of that.
"In the past 12 months, crime in total has fallen by eight per cent. We have seen house burglaries drop by 39 per cent, thefts from vehicles 33 per cent lower and thefts of vehicles slowed down by six per cent.
"Violence is the only category that has shown an upward trend, a trend that is replicated across the country.
