BANK employees have taken part in a volunteering day in aid of the Jerry Green Foundation Trust Dog Sanctuary, near Thirsk.
The team of 12 from North Yorkshire and Teesside carried out the work as part of the Barclays employee volunteering programme.
They built an exercise area for the dogs and carried out a number of painting jobs. All the materials and equipment were supplied by the bank.
Hillary and Chris Milnes, managers of the sanctuary, said: " We are a small charity that relies on donations, and the money that we do get is always spent on the dogs.
"As we only have two other members of staff working with us, it is an added bonus that Barclays gives time as well as money."
Stella McRae, Barclays' community manager for the North-East and Scotland, said: "This is an excellent example of Barclays' employees working closely with the local community to achieve something which we hope will make a real and lasting difference.
