A HIT squad is blasting its way through Middlesbrough to give the town a fresh clean look.
The Middlesbrough Reds, easily recognisable in their distinctive uniform, will regularly powerwash paved areas in the town centre and main shopping areas to keep them clean.
A crew of four will operate the flat-back truck specially designed to hold a jet washing machine and water tanks.
Janet Milner-Bryan, Middlesbrough Council's operations manager, said: "We have devised a works programme for the team which will take into account busy shopping periods such as the run-up to Christmas.
"During these periods we will carry out work in other parts of the town to keep disruption to shoppers to a minimum."
