A CYCLING event is to be held at Hartlepool's Summerhill Country Park this weekend.
Three cyclo-cross races are being staged by Steve Noble, on behalf of Stockton Wheelers Cycling Club.
They involve competitors racing on off-road routes around the park.
Tony Davison, Summerhill manager, said: "Cyclo-cross poses quite a challenge, with mud and undulating hills."
"Any type of bike can be used, but all terrain mountain bikes and special racer style cyclo-cross bikes are best."
Races will take place at the following times;
* 10am - under-12s. There is no charge to enter.
* 10.30am - juveniles (12 to 16). There is a £3 entry fee.
* noon - seniors, juniors (16 to 18) ladies and veterans (over 40). Entry is £8, plus £1 for those without a British Cycling licence.
Registration starts at 9.30am in Summerhill Visitor Centre. Parental consent forms for under-16s are available on the day.
For details, call Summerhill on (01429) 284584.
