THANKSGIVING Day is being celebrated in Redcar today.
Pupils at the town's Lakes Primary School will be given a flavour of Amercia when they are treated to a menu of roast turkey, hamburgers and pizza, followed up with apple pie and muffins.
The school hopes the event will be the first of a series of international days.
Teacher Dot Taylor said: "We're looking forward to a good day, the children have been very enthusiastic, and if it is a success, we hope we can arrange similar events each term.''
Children will also be involved in fundraising activities on what will be a non uniform day, collecting for a Redcar-based Christian group, which is supporting a school and orphanage in Nepal.
