STUDENTS have raised more than £3,000 for this year's Children in Need Appeal.
Students and staff from Shotton Hall School, in Peterlee, paid £1 to wear clothes of their choice.
But that was only the tip of the fundraising iceberg.
During the day students put on performances in the school hall to help boost funds.
Staff in the school kitchen cooked Pudsey biscuits and cakes raising money in the process.
Other students wore fancy dress to school, while some even handcuffed themselves to their best friends.
A team of girls cleaned staff cars and twin boys swapped timetables for the day, with one of them having to take his brother's maths test.
Headteacher Ian Mobray said: "I find the generosity of our students quite staggering.
"To raise £3,000 in one day is simply phenomenal and it leaves me feeling humbled and proud.''
