PLANS to knock down a former WI hall and build a pair of semi-detached homes have been recommended for approval by Harrogate Borough Council.
The scheme involves the redevelopment of the site in Main Street, Bishop Monkton, near Ripon.
WI members have donated 80 per cent from the sale of the site towards the cost of a new village hall - and planning officer Mark Williams will tell councillors no objections could be raised over the loss of a community facility.
Four letters of objection have been received.
