A VULNERABLE teenager has been missing for almost a week after he ran away from his care home.
Fourteen-year-old Jamie Williams left the Darlington home on Friday with another young boy, who has since handed himself into police.
Police have been checking a number of addresses of friends and family, and officers have been following up leads.
Sergeant Andy Gore, of Darlington police, believes the teenager left because a placement with foster carers fell through, and said concern was growing for his safety.
He said: "He has not committed any offences, but he is a vulnerable young man.
"The winter nights are cold, and somebody who should not have contact with him may end up doing so.
"Our main concern is for his safety."
Jamie is 5ft 8in, with short brown hair and was last seen wearing a light blue hooded top, black tracksuit bottoms and black boots.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0845 606 0365.
