A GREEN-THINKING family has been handed an array of prizes after being named recycling household of the month.
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council gave out the rewards as part of its first recycling initiative across the area.
Guisborough woman Marie Pritchard and husband Tony, as well as their daughters Ruby and Connie, were presented with the goodies by the council's recycling mascot Monti.
He was also joined at the family's home in Enfield Close by TFM Radio's charity mascot Macs, from the station's Make A Child Smile campaign.
The charity spin-off will take a share of the recycling revenue and about £1,000 a year will help local under-privileged children.
Monti and Macs will be touring the borough to select a winner every month in the promotion, which will run for a year.
Coun Bob Stanway, the council's environmental im- provement officer, said: "This initiative is encouraging people to recycle and will also benefit local charities.
"Well done to the Pritchards and I hope this inspires everyone to follow their example."
Tracey Butler, head of TFM and Magic 1170's Make A Child Smile, said: "We hope this is an extra incentive for people to recycle - knowing they are helping local children as well as the environment."
