A FATHER and son have been jailed for an attack on a fellow drinker. Glen Moore, 50, and his 21-year-old son, Kirk, repeatedly kicked and stamped on the head of George Harland as he lay on he ground.

Teesside Crown Court heard the 38-year-old victim had been on a night out with friends at the 42nd Street nightclub, in Hartlepool, in August, when the attack happened.

He was punched in the face by Moore senior and fell to the ground,.

Moore's son, who was drunk, joined in the assault and stamped on the man's head a number of times.

Rachel Scott-Bell, prosecuting, said a woman who witnessed the attack was so shocked by what she had seen she felt physically sick and had to look away.

Both father and son, of Charters Crescent, South Hetton, County Durham, pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm.

Judge Peter Fox, who was shown the incident in court after it was recorded on security cameras, said it had been a horrible attack.

Roger Moore, mitigating for Glen Moore, said his client had been on medication and it had changed his personality. He said Moore had been headbutted by Mr Harland inside the club.
