A SPORTY student is celebrating selection for two County Durham football squads.
Andrew James, who studies at Darlington's Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, has been praised for the achievement.
He has won a place in the Durham County Schools' squad, made up of boys in further education, and will also represent the Durham County youth team, which is open to all boys in the region.
PE teacher at the college, Mark Scott, said: "Andy is to be congratulated on his outstanding success.
"The Durham County Youth squad is traditionally very strong - last year they won the National Youth Cup and it is a particular achievement to be selected for this representative team."
Andrew, a goalkeeper, is also junior captain of Blackwell Golf Club.
