NETBALL players have been improving their skills since the creation of a Darlington academy earlier this year.
Tees Valley Sport is working with Darlington Sports Development Team to coach 20 girls, in years seven, eight and nine, in netball.
The players form one of three satellite academies in the Tees Valley region and attend two hours of coaching in the Dolphin Centre, in Darlington, once every three weeks. They receive individual training from Sarah Gamblin, Carol Bradley and assistant Rachel Masterman. Kate Reah, netball coordinator for Tees Valley Sport, said there were plans to set up netball activities for year seven beginners.
