A HOSPICE in Darlington has been presented with a hamper of food by children from a local primary school.
Pupils and staff at the Holy Family RC Primary School, in Darlington, began collecting food in the run-up to the school's Harvest festival celebrations last month.
The school raffled many of the goods in aid of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and donated the remaining food items to St Teresa's Hospice.
Acting headteacher Mrs McGuigan said: "We chose the inpatient unit at St Teresa's because one of our parents suggested that they could use the hamper to offer light refreshments and snacks to relatives and friends visiting patients.
