PUPIL Jonathan Dulston took a break from lessons to try his hand at being headteacher for the day.
The year 11 student from Eastbourne Comprehensive School, in Darlington, took charge of the staff meeting, met LEA officers and looked at recruitment needs for next year.
The teenager took the place of headteacher Karen Pemberton to raise money for Children in Need and has so far collected £140.
Mrs Pemberton said: "Jonathan has always taken a great interest in the running of the school. He is a prefect, responsible for the year seven yard at lunchtime and head boy of Auckland House. He is very mature."
