UniBond League: Bishop Auckland manager Brian Honour firmly believes that his team is on the right track even though Bishops lost 2-1 at home to Lincoln United on Saturday to go bottom of the table.
Chris Moore missed a last minute penalty for Bishops to miss out on a point, but Honour said: "If we keep playing like that, then we'll get out of trouble. We're improving all the time.
"I've got mixed feelings about the defeat. None of us likes losing, but there were some very good signs.
"We're starting to take shape, and the players are believing in themselves - especially with games coming up this week against Spennymoor and Whitby."
Recent signing Mark Sheeran put Bishops into the lead after just three minutes with a powerful shot, but Lincoln levelled from the spot through Jonty Hawley after a foul by Chris Moore.
Bishops fell behind in the second minute of stoppage time through Brendan McDaid however, in the fourth minute of added on time, Sheeran was fouled in the area, but Moore's penalty was saved.
Gateshead moved above Bishops thanks to a 2-1 home win over Witton Albion, Lee Hamilton scoring both goals.
