YOUNGSTERS have used their artistic talents to help promote a Hartlepool beauty spot.
The ideas of children from Clavering Primary School have been incorporated into the design of a new information board at the entrance to the Hart to Haswell Walkway, in Ocean Road.
The group, who took part in a workshop with Sunderland-based artist Jim Roberts to design the board, were at the scene to witness its official unveiling.
Working with the artist, the youngsters' designs were created out of steel and welded onto the frame of the interpretative board.
The board itself features a range of information about the wildlife and flowers to be found along the route of the walkway, which is one of five local nature reserves in the town.
The board has cost about £2,000, with funding coming from English Nature's Wildspace grants scheme.
Joe Davies, Hartlepool Borough Council's local nature reserves officer, said: "The children showed a lot of enthusiasm during the workshop and we wanted to give them a chance to see the results of their work.
"The new board has taken the place of an older one, which was beginning to look a bit dated.
"The Hart to Haswell Walkway is very popular with both walkers and cyclists, and we hope the information on the new board contributes to their continued enjoyment of the area."
The new board is seen as the first phase of a wider scheme to improve the walkway, with drainage works also planned to create an improved surface.
