OTTAKAR'S Bookstore in Darlington has unveiled an exclusive new range of local history products. The range of books, stationery and gifts has been produced with publisher Francis Frith, and will be appreciated by anyone with a love of Darlington and its rich history. The range is headed by a brand new, fully illustrated history of Darlington. There is also a quiz book, So You Think You Know Darlington?, filled with questions about Darlington and its history, and a Darlington Miscellany full of fascinating facts. The range also includes notebooks, an address book, a calendar and day book, and mounted prints of some local scenes. There are also drinks coasters, a jigsaw and a snow globe. Prices range from £3.99 to £14.99, and the whole range is available instore now, only at Ottakar's, Darlington.
"We think this range of local history books, stationery and gifts would make the perfect present this Christmas, though customers will have to be quick, as stocks are limited," said manager Dianne O'Neill.
To celebrate the festive season, Ottakar's has teamed up with The Northern Echo to offer one lucky reader the chance to win some of the books in the range. All you have to do is tell us the name of the river which runs through the centre of Darlington. Answers on a postcard or back of an envelope to Ottakar's Competition, Features, The Northern Echo, Priestgate, Darlington DL1 1NF. The closing date is Monday.
