A SINGER billed as Europe's No 1 Elvis impersonator is to give a concert in the North-East on what would have been the legend's 70th birthday.
Neil Glass, who uses the stage name Elvis Glass, will appear in the show at the Jersey Farm Hotel in Barnard Castle, County Durham, on Saturday, January 8.
It was arranged because his public relations manager, Kay Wilson, is from the town and urged him to make a visit.
Ms Wilson said yesterday: "There will be a lot of tributes to Elvis all over the world on his 70th birthday, and I wanted this one to be in my own town."
Ms Wilson has been working with the Liverpool-born singer for several years, but it will be the first time he has performed in the region.
Information about ticket sales will be released in the coming weeks.
