STUDENTS from Darlington College of Technology are preparing to get the festive season off on the right note.
First-year students on the advanced rock and pop course have begun rehearsing for their Christmas concert, which will be held in the main hall of the college next Wednesday.
Classic songs from artists past and present will feature in the concert, which starts at 8pm.
Included in the programme will be music by The Who, Sir Elton John, Debbie Harry and the Beatles as well as more modern songs by Lenny Kravitz and Robbie Williams.
Proceeds will go to the travel fund to pay for an annual trip to Darlington's twin town of Amiens, in France.
Andrew Meadowcroft , a tutor at the college, said: "It will be the first opportunity for many of the students to perform classic rock songs."
Tickets cost £3 and are available by calling (01325) 503172. They will also be available at the door
