A NEW partnership is helping to plant trees in a community wood.
The Rotary Club of Seaham and the Friends of Hazel Dene are working with Seaham Town Council, Durham County Council and Ropery Walk Primary School to plant a group of trees in Hazel Dene Community Woodland, next to Dawdon Welfare Park.
The planting will take place tomorrow in the woodland in an area adjacent to the main park entrance from Queen Alexandra Road at 11am.
Mike Preston, of Seaham Town Council, said: "We are pleased to be working in partnership with these local organisations and pupils and teachers in Ropery Walk Primary School to help improve Seaham's environment, and we look forward to working with the organisations and local schools in other similar environmental projects."
