YOUNG athletes from an independent school are celebrating sweeping the board at two cross-country events.
Pupils at Polam Hall Junior School in Darlington, competed at the recent Independent Schools' cross country contest against Teesside Preparatory and High School, Barnard Castle School, Durham High School and Sunderland High School.
Polam Hall girls took the trophies in the Under-11s, Under-10s and Under-9s races.
Just over a week later, at Hummersknott School, the girls took part in the Darlington Primary Schools' cross country competition.
The Year 5 and Year 6 teams won the upper junior girls' section, and the Year 4team won the lower junior girls' race.
HeadmistressAngela Foster said: "The girls' commitment at the running club has shone through and I congratulate each and every one of them on their efforts."
