PUPILS have been honoured for outstanding achievements throughout the school year.
Youngsters from Longfield School in Darlington, gathered at the annual prize-giving night last Thursday to receive their awards from the editor of The Northern Echo, Peter Barron.
More than 120 students were recognised in a range of academic and sporting fields.
Headteacher Keith Cotgrave said: "There is no better testament for our hope for the future than to acknowledge the achievement of those who will shape it."
Special Awards included: Head boy, Jordan Rogers-Smith; head girl, Nicola Helen Saunders; June Theakston Memorial Cup ( for contribution to the school council), Leanne Hall; The Rotary Prize, Natalie Grieves; Richardson Trophy (Duke of Edinburgh Award), Laura Young; Dr Ions Memorial Cup (for the best overall GCSE results), Nicola Helen Saunders.
