HEALTH workers keen to see how children look after their teeth are introducing a toothbrush exchange.
The scheme is being introduced on December 6 at Grangetown Primary School, near Middlesbrough, organised by Middlesbrough Primary Care Trust. Health workers will use the event to gather information on the frequency of visits to the dentist and the child's understanding of dental health.
Each child who brings in their old toothbrush will be provided with a new toothbrush and toothpaste relevant to their age group. Event organiser Emma Thomas, community health development worker for the trust, said: "If the event is successful, similar events are planned for other primary schools in the greater Eston area."
