TEENAGERS have braved the elements to raise cash for new village facilities.
Members of Langley Park Community Youth Group donned fancy dress for a sponsored walk in the Durham area, from Old Esh through Cornsay Colliery and Quebec to Langley Park.
The event raised £350 towards buying a youth shelter for Langley Park.
Some of the cash will also help pay for the group's Christmas disco.
Phil Shaw, from Langley Park Community Group, said: "At present, there are no facilities in the village for young people and they want to raise the necessary money themselves."
Businesses that donated included the Board Inn and Cross Keys in Esh, Hamsteels Inn in Quebec, the Royal Oak in Cornsay Colliery, Langley Park Workingmen's Club and Cricket Club, and the Blue Star and Ramshead pubs in the village.
