RESIDENTS in Hartlepool are being asked to comment on a plan to protect the coastline.
A public meeting will be held on Monday at the town's Civic Centre when a presentation will be given on the Shoreline Management Plan.
The plan covers 95 miles from the River Tyne to Flamborough Head. It was first produced in 1999, but the Government expects all coastal councils to review their areas by 2006.
Nick Clennett, the Hartlepool Borough Council's acting head of technical services, said: "We are undertaking the review and we want to give local people the opportunity to be involved and have their say."
The presentation starts at 7pm.
An exhibition is being held from 5pm, to give residents a clearer picture of the initiative.
