THREE cadets are appealing for help with a dream trip to Africa.

Craig Ridley, Sarah Clark and Chris Jack, all lance corporals with Durham Army Cadet Force, have signed up for a four-week trip to Tanzania next July.

It will include climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, a safari by Jeep and a community project, such as working with street children.

The trio, who are all 16, will be part of a joint services cadet force expedition to East Africa.

Part of the challenge is that the youngsters have to arrange the whole trip and its schedule themselves.

Craig and Sarah parade at the cadets' Chester-le-Street detachment and Chris is with the Stanley detachment.

They need to raise £1,500 each towards the trip and are seeking sponsors as they face the Three Peaks Challenge.

Colour Sergeant Gina Jack, detachment commander at Chester-le-Street, said: "This is a trip of a lifetime for Craig, Sarah and Chris."

Anyone interested in sponsoring the trio, or joining the cadets, can contact Major Steve Ramsey on 0191-388 2351.
