YOUNG people are channelling their energy into arts projects across the county.
North Yorkshire County Council's project, Connecting Youth Culture (CYC), has launched a series of initiatives.
Executive member for education Chris Metcalfe said: "Young people are often misunderstood when their boundless energy and enthusiasm is branded anti-social behaviour.
"Thanks to CYC, this energy is being focused into worthwhile and creative projects, which can't fail to break down the barriers that can exist between young people and other generations."
In Harrogate, youth dance workshops are being staged every Wednesday, from 6pm to 8pm, at the Community Gym at Granby High School.
Young people are coached by a professional dancer and choreographer and work towards performing at youth dance galas and arts festivals.
The sessions are free. For details, call (01423) 548800.
* Harrogate is also hosting a rock school. Based at the Hyper Youth Centre, the Rock Academy is every Friday night between 5pm and 8pm.
In Ripon, members of the community are being interviewed for their views on the city's young people. They are being invited to Ripsky's Youth Cafe in the centre of Ripon to answer questions on issues involving young people, residents and police.
