pupils have been learning about what happened to people when they broke the law in bygone days.
Nearly 100 year nine students from The Wensleydale School, in Leyburn, visited the courthouse, workhouse and prison and police museums in Ripon yesterday.
Staff dressed in Victorian costumes and pupils took part in re-enactments.
Museums manager Christine Orsler said: "They were a lovely group and they managed to fit in as much as possible. The museums are colourful, varied and interesting for all different age groups."
The group was the largest the museum had catered for.
