A NEW Teesdale visitor attraction is adding some seasonal displays for the festive period.
Meet the Middletons, in Middleton-in-Teesdale, a visitor centre that explores life in Middleton in the 19th Century through the eyes of a fictional family is putting on new exhibitions this Christmas.
Visitors can learn how people celebrated Christmas in the 1800s and how homes were decorated.
There will also be a photographic display by members of the Teesdale Heritage Group featuring winter scenes in Teesdale.
There will also be workshops for children, including pomander making and designing Victorian Christmas cards and there will be quiz sheets looking at toys past and present.
The shop is also stocking traditional toys and unusual gifts which will be gift-wrapped free of charge.
Grace Wallace, the general manager of the visitor centre, said: "The new features will be on show to visitors from December 13 and a trip to see these seasonal additions will make a wonderful complement to festive visits to the village."
Meet the Middletons will be closed from Monday to the following Sunday. For further details call (01833) 640333.
