A FASHION chain offering a flavour of Spain has opened its first UK store in the North-East.
Spanish retailer Bershka yesterday launched its outlet at the Gateshead MetroCentre.
The group already has 300 stores in 15 European countries.
It joins its sister company, Spanish retailer Zara, in the centre's Red Mall, which opened in October.
MetroCentre general manager Ron Woodman said: "This new fashion brand strengthens an already successful and unique retail mix which we have achieved with the recent opening of the new Red Mall."
