Spennymoor are wanting to keep their run of top form going when they take on Burscough at the Brewery Field in the UniBond League this afternoon.

After slumping in the league cup ten days ago, Moors have thumped Droylsden 4-2 in the Trophy, and on Tuesday night they easily beat Bishop Auckland 5-0 in the groundsharing derby.

Coach Graeme Clark said: "We have a great opportunity to move up at least one place, maybe more.

"We must keep this run going. We've only had one defeat in 12 games, and with games in hand, we can move even further up the table."

Moors are unchanged, although midfielder David Colvin has gone to Gateshead.

Bottom club Bishop Auckland face a tough trip to Whitby, who are second.

Bishops are five points away from safety, and manager Brian Honour said: "Anything we can pick up today will be a bonus. We must roll our sleeves up and dig in."

Honour is still without Stuart Irvine, Gavin Mudd and Stephen West because of injury, while on-loan midfielder Michael Coghlan is doubtful with a wrist injury.

Blyth, who are at Marine, give new signing Scott Bell, from Brandon, his debut.

Although two players are doubtful, Wearside League Stokesley SC are confident of having a full-strength squad available for today's home game with in-form Ryhope CW.

"Richie Hore is recovering from a broken toe and Robbie Donnelly has been bothered with an injury to his ankle but hopefully the pair will be okay," said secretary Peter Grainge.

His opposite number, Doug Benison, said: "We have won seven of our last eight games and are now fourth - our highest position for some time.

"It must be five seasons since we claimed even a point at Stokesley so it will be another big test but if we picked up something it will prove just how far we have come."

Ryhope also have two injury doubts but Kevin Benison and George Marley are expected to travel.

Leaders Darlington RA go to Birtley Town unable to call upon the suspended Nigel Bolton but Warren Byrne returns after completing a ban and both Paul Freary and Martin Brown are included in a strong pool of players.

Birtley await news on the fitness of Kevin Murphy and Stephen Ireland as they attempt to build on an improved performance last weekend.

Ferryhill manager Mark Fanning is also hoping his side continues where it left off last weekend and at Boldon CA he anticipates making few changes. Jeremy Norris is ruled out but Andrew Howard can play.

Wolviston meet New Marske in at Metcalfe Park with Andy Steele and Carl Brunskill resuming, although Matt Ruse and Shaun Braithwaite are playing for North Riding Youths. Also absent is centre back John Patterson, so Paul Edwards will continue to partner Craig Luke at the heart of the defence. New Marske include Paul Harrison and Danny Parkes.

Washington Nissan UK visit full strength Cleadon SC and include newcomers David Ward, Kirk Hardy and Paul McAdam.
