A MAN has been jailed for ten years for raping a prostitute at knifepoint.
The 42-year-old woman gave evidence at Teesside Crown Court over a video link about her ordeal in the home of a client Abdel Khali.
She said that she was walking alone in central Middlesbrough when Khali, 35, offered her £25 "for business" and she agreed to go to his nearby home.
But once inside he produced a knife and raped her twice, forced her to perform a sex act and stole £75.
She was taken to hospital with cuts to her neck, chest and hand before the police were called.
She took them to the house in Ayresome Street, MIddlesbrough, where Khalil said that she had stolen his mobile phone.
Khalil, now of Waterloo Road, Middlesbrough, was jailed for ten years after he was found guilty of rape on February 24 last year. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
