DRUGS and thousands of pounds in cash were recovered in police raids on North-East homes yesterday.
Six houses in West Cornforth, County Durham, were targeted in the 7am swoop, which was part of an intelligence-led operation.
Crack cocaine worth £1,000 and £11,000 in cash were seized from a house, where a 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being involved in the supply of controlled drugs.
Officers also recovered £1,500 worth of cocaine together with several cannabis plants, a quad bike and 30 street signs from a second house, where they took a 30-year-old man into custody.
Both men were held at Newton Aycliffe police station.
Inspector Steve Winship, based at Spennymoor, said information from the public had made the action possible.
