A TEAM of airmen showed youngsters what the RAF had to offer at a skills festivals for schools.
Linton-on-Ouse officers were among more than 100 organisations at Skillsfest 2004, in Harrogate.
The event was opened by local Liberal Democrat MP Phil Willis, and gave about 500 year nine students from across the county a chance to explore the skills needed to work in the science and technology sector.
Life skills and team building sessions were demonstrated by the RAF, along with the importance of teamwork in aircraft design.
The event was organised by North Yorkshire Business Education Partnership. Spokeswoman Harriet Dow said: "This was our biggest event of the year and we are really grateful to Linton for their support throughout 2004.
"The base has taken part in over 30 of our science fairs throughout the county as well as allowing us to use the base as a venue for many of our projects."
