Capheaton trainer Ann Hamilton landed a rare double with Superior Weapon and Tynedale at Newcastle in the middle of last month. And she can be on the mark with the same two horses back at the same course today.

They can win the Weatherbys Insurance Handicap Chase and Ramside Event Catering National Hunt Novices Hurdle respectively.

Two miles on a sound surface is ideal for Superior Weapon and he showed the right attitude again when beating Lauderdale and Stormy Beech.

Although worse off at the weights, he looks a more reliable type than either of those rivals.

Tynedale also showed the right attitude to win over two and a half miles on his hurdles debut at Gosforth Park but shaped as though today's three-mile trip will be even more in his favour.

He's open to plenty more improvement, won't mind the conditions and is fancied to get the better of Hot Weld, who didn't have to improve to win a very weak race at Sedgefield last time.

Brave Vision has been on the mark twice over two miles at this course on a sound surface of late and can notch a quickfire three- timer over the same trip in the BBC Radio Newcastle Handicap.

Alastair Whilans' eight-year-old merely had to be pushed out to win last week and, although penalised, is meeting rivals who have several question marks about them regarding current form.

Imperial Dream made amends for an unlucky run at Sedgefield when scoring at this course last time and can follow up in the Gosforth Decorating & Building Services Novices Chase over three miles.

Harry Hogarth's six-year-old jumped soundly when beating Supreme Developer, who had previously run Paddy The Piper close, and he should find the extra half mile of this contest to his liking.

At Ayr all eyes will be on Howard Johnson's classy Flat recruit Arcalis, who makes his eagerly awaited hurdles debut in the McCrea Financial Novices Hurdle over two miles.

The progressive four-year-old turned in his best effort when last seen, winning the ultra-competitive John Smiths Cup over the extended mile and a quarter (from a tough draw) and looks the ideal sort for this game.

Johnson can also be on the mark with Cotty's Rock, who created a favourable impression when winning at Sedgefield, in the A New Dawn At Cumbernauld Novices Hurdle over two and a half miles.

At Wolverhampton the one that appeals most is Sylvester Kirk's Fisby.

He has run two solid races on this surface and is fancied to go well in division two of the Bet Direct Red To Bet On ITV Handicap over the extended nine furlongs.

Following a win over a mile at this course the progressive three-year-old lost nothing in defeat when a close second to Libre (winner since) over seven furlongs here last time.

But given his style of racing and his pedigree he is capable of better over this longer trip.

Iffy, who wasn't seen to best effect in a steadily-run race over a mile at Wolverhampton last time, should appreciate the return to the extended nine furlongs and is the fancy under Richard Quinn in divisio one.
