A moorland farm is in line for a new lease of life as holiday accommodation and as a centre for teaching the ancient craft of stone wall building.
The North York Moors National Park Authority's planning committee is to approve the plan for Forest Lodge, at Castleton, near Whitby, to refurbish the farmhouse, a listed building on the park's Buildings at Risk register.
The isolated farm buildings, which date back to 1832, have fallen into a poor state of repair and are seriously at risk.
Danby and Castleton Parish Council opposed the scheme, saying the holiday cottage market was already saturated in the area.
