A MAN-EATING plant is taking a starring role in a popular musical production.
The exotic plant that takes over the Little Shop of Horrors is making an appearance at Prior Pursglove College, in Guisborough, this week in an eagerly anticipated show.
The cast of 14 students have been rehearsing since September for the production, in which out-of-luck Seymour Krelbourn discovers the flower with a strange and unusual appetite. The plant grows remarkably fast, as does Seymour's love for Audrey, his co-worker at the flower shop.
The stage production tells the story of the feeding-frenzy as Seymour becomes a celebrity and the plant becomes a larger-than-life sensation.
Performances run for four nights from tomorrow, starting at 7.30pm.
Graham Hamlyn, from the department of drama and performing arts, said: "This is the first project the first-years have been assigned to.
"They have worked extremely hard and have been involved in every aspect of the production, from the advertising and marketing to the costume design. This is going to be an amazing show."
Tickets are £6 for adults and £4 for concessions, available on (01287) 280800.
