POLICE are asking for help in tracing two men they wish to interview.

Officers want to speak to Christopher William Graham about a substantial sum of counterfeit currency recovered in Middlesbrough more than a year ago.

Others were charged at the time, but no action was taken against 37-year-old Mr Graham. Police want to talk to him about the possession and use of an amount of forged money and possibly perjury, but efforts have failed to track him down.

He has a number of tattoos, including dots on his fingers, Boro MFC on his left wrist and UB40 on his right wrist. He is 5ft 7in, of medium build with short, light brown hair.

Police want to interview Mark Anthony Lilley about the theft of jewellery from two addresses in the Stockton area.

Mr Lilley, 25, is 6ft and has green eyes and brown hair. He has a tattoo of a dagger and a heart on his left arm, and one of a naked lady on his right arm, and has not been seen in the area for about a year following a fall-out with family and friends.

Detective Constable Trevor Smith, of Cleveland Police, said: "All too often, people think that if they drop out of circulation and move to another area, police will forget they exist and any misdemeanours will be filed under the 'forgotten' category.

"This is not the case. These men are circulated on the police national computer and if they are spot-checked, they will be identified and arrested.

"It could well be they are still living locally, and if so, we would ask people to let us know where they are or urge these people themselves to come forward. It would be far better if they made themselves known now."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
