A YOUNG Taekwondo champion kicked his way to gold at a competition in Darlington.
Nine-year-old Connor Woodcock, who trains at the town's Kim Chung Do Dojang, competed in the yellow belt to blue belt category and achieved three gold medals and one bronze.
He also won the overall team trophy with his team-mates Tom Smith and Cameron Fletcher, both nine.
Instructor Katey Wallace said: "I'm so pleased for Connor. He's dedicated, got an excellent attitude and trains really hard - he deserves all the success in the world."
More than 100 competitors from across the North-East, Doncaster and Sheffield competed at the biannual competition, held in Gladstone Street.
Other medal winners from Darlington included Andrew Hindle, Sam Smith, Jenny Ridley, Matthew Brown, David Hamilton, Sean Argyle, Zak Newnham, Elliott Todd, Matthew Walker, Nikki Beresford, Alan Beresford, Tom Smith, Naomi Denton, Nicole Pegg, Emma Roscher, Robbie Bates, Cameron Fletcher, Adam Peel, Kieran Twist, Thomas Smith.
Winners from Newton Aycliffe included Julian Hatfield, Daniel Lovejoy and Daniel Craig.
